Does your pet play a starring role in your family? Then fetch your camera and let everyone know by entering them in the Brevard Humane Society’s Pet Photo Contest. Your photo(s) could be a monthly feature in their 2021 “Best Pets of Brevard” calendar or even grace the cover, but all photos will appear somewhere in the calendar!

“Our ‘Best Pets of Brevard’ Calendar is intended to be a fun but meaningful fundraiser for the community we serve,” said Theresa Clifton Executive Director of the Brevard Humane Society. “While the prize may not make you a millionaire, the reward truly is priceless. By participating in the Calendar Contest, you are helping us raise awareness and financial support for the countless abandoned animals that walk through our doors each year.”

The animal rescue organization, headquartered in Cocoa, FL, opens the contest to all pets whether it has feathers, fur, or scales now through July 12, 2020. The cost to enter is just $10 per photo (photos become the property of the Humane Society for future use). Photos of a beloved pet who has passed may also be submitted and will be honored in a special “In Loving Memory” section for just $50 per photo. Photos should be submitted in color and be of pets only (no humans please). Plus, there is no limit as to how many photos you can submit, so enter as many times as you like!

For an opportunity to win the cover or one of the 12 lucky spots in their 2021 “Best Pets of Brevard” photo contest, simply register at or visit the Brevard Humane Society, Cocoa Adoption Center (1020 Cox Rd., Cocoa), Merritt Island Adoption Center (155 Pioneer Rd., Merritt Island) or any of their Molly Mutt Thrift Shop locations (Merritt Island, Rockledge, Melbourne, and Palm Bay) for an entry form. The final calendar reveal will be conducted at the Brevard Humane Society’s annual Tuxes & Tails Gala being held on Saturday, August 22nd at the Space Coast Convention Center in Cocoa. Once available, the 2021 “Best Pets of Brevard” calendars will cost only ($5) five dollars with all proceeds benefitting the homeless animals of Brevard.

Founded in 1952, The Brevard Humane Society is Brevard County’s oldest established animal welfare organization. A no-kill for space shelter, BHS is dedicated to speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves. BHS educates the community on responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals, advocates for spaying/neutering to reduce the homeless pet population, and provides the best quality care to Brevard’s abandoned animals by placing them with responsible, caring owners in forever homes.
