1. The Brevard Humane Society is very appreciative of our volunteers and we take the program as well as their time and dedication very seriously. That being said, we do have basic requirements for all of our volunteers in order for them to function safely in our environment and interact appropriately with the public, the staff, and other volunteers. If a volunteer shows that they do not possess any of the following, they would not be considered an appropriate candidate and the Brevard Humane Society does reserve the right to not assign the volunteer to a schedule and end the relationship. Those basic requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to act professionally, exercise sound judgement, respond quickly and appropriately to circumstances, comprehend rules and directions and to be able to follow them appropriately, and work independently. The Brevard Humane Society attempts to screen and restrain animals appropriately, but volunteers and visitors should be aware that some animals, when introduced to new situations or persons, can behave unpredictably and may, on occasion, become aggressive out of stress or fear. The undersigned assumes any risk of injury that may be incurred as a result of viewing or being in contact with any or all animals in the care and custody of the Brevard Humane Society and its representatives. In consideration of my participation in the activities of the Brevard Humane Society, the undersigned, on behalf of him/herself hereby releases and forever discharges the Brevard Humane Society, its members, officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives from any and all liabilities, actions, causes of action, claims, damages, costs or losses incurred which may arise out of or in relation to said participation in any of the activities of the Brevard Humane Society or that may occur while on the Brevard Humane Society's premises. 2. I hereby consent to participation in interviews, the use of quotes and the taking of photographs, movies or video tapes by the Brevard Humane Society. I also grant to the Brevard Humane Society the right to edit, use and reuse said products for promotional purposes including use in print, on the internet and all other forms of media. I also hereby release and forever discharge the Brevard Humane Society, its members, officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives from all claims, demands and liabilities in connection with the above.
