BREVARD HUMANE SOCIETY INVITES THE COMMUNITY TO “SIT.STAY.LEARN” WITH CELEBRITY TRAINER, JOEL SILVERMAN

The Brevard Humane Society is once again pleased to host renowned dog trainer Joel Silverman at their Cocoa Adoption Center for a CEU certification program. This one-of-a-kind course will be held from 9:00am to 3:00pm, August 26th through August 29th. The celebrity dog trainer and award-winning star will share his training system to transform any dog—from pampered purebred to rambunctious rescue—into a model companion in just four days.

“We are thrilled to have someone with Joel’s background and credibility return to our community,” said Theresa Clifton, Executive Director for the Brevard Humane Society. “Joel’s expertise is hard-won: he began at a young age training his childhood pet and progressed into working with marine animals for SeaWorld and Six Flags theme parks, starring in IAMS and Chase Bank commercials, training for TV sitcom “Empty Nest” and hosting Animal Planet’s ‘Good Dog U’. Joel’s talent will not only help pet owners in our community, but also aid our animals before and after their adoption.”

Following on the success of last year, each of the attendees will work directly with Joel who will give them hands-on advice and instruction on how to improve their canine’s obedience. The class will teach the basic principles of animal behavior along with basic training techniques utilizing adoptable dogs from the Brevard Humane Society. Students will interact with dogs at every phase of the class and they will earn the JSDT1 certification upon completion.

“Joel Silverman was an amazing teacher. His methods for training and teaching were simplistic and logical with always an encouraging and upbeat attitude. He made learning the basics in dog training feel natural. I highly recommend anyone wanting to learn the basics of dog training to come see Joel! I look forward to seeing you again hopefully for the next course!” said Alison Vanstone, graduate of 2018’s CEU program.

“I really enjoyed the JSDT1 course and would highly recommend it to others. Learning to use training techniques that are appropriate for each dog’s personality type was awesome. And loved the hands on work with shelter dogs! Thanks Joel!” exclaimed Mary “Pixie” Norwich, 2018’s student and CEU program graduate.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the JSDT1 course I took with you last week at the Brevard Humane Society facility. My 14 month old black lab is already well trained and well behaved and your methods have given me the tools to improve her training. She is responding to new tricks and behaviors and looks forward to “playing” every day. I would recommend your class to anyone that is looking to improve their knowledge of dog training. I feel very confident that I can train other dogs now. Your methods work. I saw and worked with a variety of dogs during the week. They responded well and learned behaviors easily,” stated Bob Greenwood, graduate of 2018’s CEU program.

Joel Silverman’s class is open to the public, however spaces are limited. Individuals interested in becoming certified dog trainers, owners of doggie daycares, employees of pet rescues, veterinary clinic staff or passionate pet owners are highly encouraged to attend.
