FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BREVARD HUMANE SOCIETY’S “FOR THE LOVE OF DOGS” TRUCK GIVEAWAY FUELS CHRISTMAS JOY

Christmas came early this year for Joyce Floyd of Cocoa, who was recently named the winner of the Brevard Humane Society’s “For The Love of Dogs” 2003 Toyota Tundra Truck Drawing. Consistent with Santa’s gift-giving model, the 2003 garage-kept, burgundy Toyota Tundra was valued in excess of ten thousand dollars. Cocoa Mayor Henry Parrish III and Theresa Clifton, Executive Director of Brevard Humane Society drew and announced the lucky winner, ticket #1356, live on Facebook Saturday afternoon.

Ms. Floyd, a frequent donator and customer of Molly Mutt III Thrift Shop in Rockledge, was in complete disbelief upon learning she had won. In the spirit of the season, John Blondin, Manager of Molly Mutt III where the winning ticket was sold, called the truck giveaway a “thank you” to the store’s regular customer, thanking her for her business.

“You couldn’t ask for a more deserving person to win,” said John Blondin, Manager of Molly Mutt III Thrift Shop. “Her car would continuously smoke and it was in desperate need of repair, so I know what winning this truck must mean to her.”

Promotion for the truck drawing began in early October with tickets being sold online as well as at each of the Brevard Humane Society’s Molly Mutt Thrift Store locations. A total of 1,467 out of 2,000 eligible tickets were sold which helped support the “Rooms for Dogs” kennel renovation project at the Brevard Humane Society’s Adoption Center in Cocoa.
