In Jacobs memory, this fund was created to help intake those Pitties, and Pit mixes that might have health or behavior issues and otherwise might not be able to be accepted into a no-kill for space shelter. The Ava’s Champions Program will cover the costs necessary to provide medical care for sick or injured dogs and evaluate each case for supplementary training with a dog trainer specialist to ensure their adoptability. Our goal is to develop community awareness and increase exposure to the positive sides of Pit Bull breeds and dispel myths. Community events and dog handling classes will be developed to educate proper introductions and behavior with all dogs and breeds to spread awareness.
