FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BREVARD HUMANCE SOCIETY PARTNERS WITH PRECISION RACE FOR PETS 2 THE RESCUE VIRTUAL WALK/RUN

During this time of economic stress, shelter donations are down, and fundraisers have been canceled, but the needs of homeless dogs and cats are as great as ever. Pets 2 the Rescue is a 1-mile and 5K virtual run/walk event, created by Precision Race to raise funds for Brevard Humane Society and other non-profit animal shelters and pet adoption agencies across the United States.

“We are incredibly grateful to Precision Race for the opportunity to be a part of Pets 2 the Rescue,” said Theresa Clifton Executive Director of the Brevard Humane Society. “And we are excited about the opportunity to raise awareness and financial support to help us replenish funds lost due to the cancellation of community fundraising events during this pandemic.”

The animal rescue organization, headquartered in Cocoa, FL, is excited about the virtual event and hopes it will be a fun and interactive way to connect with the community. Register between now and June 1, 2020 for just $10, and 100% of your registration fee will go to Brevard Humane Society to fuel the organization’s lifesaving work. You can make an even greater impact by making an additional donation as you register.

To participate, visit https://bit.ly/Pets2TheRescue and register for a 1-mile or 5K walk/run or if you cycle, a 5-mile bike ride. Be sure to select the Brevard Humane Society as your animal rescue organization of choice. Then just walk, run or ride your distance – with your pet if you would like – and report your time by using the free “IYR Virtual” mobile app or manually in the online race results. Participants who submit their time before June 1, 2020 will be entered into a drawing for “door prizes” distributed by Precision Race.

Founded in 1952, Brevard Humane Society is Brevard County’s oldest established animal welfare organization.
