FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Brevard Humane Society is proud to host the 21st Annual Critter Run (a motorcycle poker run) on Sunday, November 18th. All proceeds from the ride will benefit the homeless animals in their care.
Unfortunately, there will be one person noticeably missing again this year, Sally Frey, who passed away last September. A staunch supporter of the Brevard Humane Society and their adoptable animals, Sally had been a key organizer of the event almost from the time of its inception.
“Sally’s passion may have been mostly for the animals, but she also loved to ride,” said Theresa Clifton Executive Director of the Brevard Humane Society. “This run is continuing on as Sally would have wanted. It is a beautiful way to continue honoring her memory while also aiding a deserving cause.”
Riders will leave from the Brevard Humane Society’s Cocoa Adoption Center at 1020 Cox Road in Cocoa with the first bike departing at 10 am and last bike out at 11:30 am. From there, riders will enjoy a scenic trek with three stops for card pulls prior to reaching their final destination at H & D Roadhouse (1811 E. Merritt Island Causeway) for a post-run after-party complete with food, prizes, live music, an auction and a 50/50 drawing. Those missing the run are still welcome to attend the after-party as well as purchase game sheets and pull a hand at the end.
The cost of the Critter Run is $7 per hand or two for $10. An extra card pull will be given to participants who bring a pet related item from the organization’s wish list to the Cocoa Adoption Center at the time of registration. The event concludes with the last bike in at 4 pm. Cash prizes will be given for Best and Worst Hand, in addition to a Mystery Hand, so that everyone has an opportunity to win.
To register for the Critter Run, riders must arrive between 10 am and 11:30 am the day of the event. All motorcycles and cars are welcome. Please contact Theresa Clifton at 321.302.4828 for further details and/or information.
